Very Christmas

Very Christmas indeed.

Nintendo Wii

I still say the Wii is a myth. I’ve been dying to get my hands on one for my parents (and myself) for over a year now and every single time, it’s the same old story. Well, still a little time left so I’m crossing my fingers. Had to sell my Akai MPC2000XL for USD$500 just to be able to afford some decent Christmas shopping this year. I really didn’t want to say goodbye, considering it’s such an iconic piece of musical equipment but it’s fairly obsolete with my current lifestyle. Tried to auction it off on eBay and someone not too far from here got in touch with me in no time and made the offer to pick it up and pay with cash. Easy sale. So, D and I have been doing pretty good with gifts since.

Ah, the holidays. Honestly, I’m not too thrilled about posting right now. We’ve had one hell of a week and I feel like shit. Since travelling all the way to Philadelphia via train last week, things have been pretty exhausting. We were forced to overnight with no money for accommodation and barely enough for food and ended up wandering around the streets between downtown and 30th Street Station from sundown to sunup. It was nice to get out Lewistown for once but I wouldn’t exactly call it a vacation. Philly isn’t the nicest place, in terms of hygiene. Good shopping though! And it’s littered with century old architecture everywhere (oh and lots of American patriotism and history too) which was downright gorgeous. We took a few pictures and videos but we were far too busy trying to acquire Danielle’s passport. (All of this was so unnecessary but…) I don’t know how she did it but somehow she managed to pull it off; with a little help from my mother’s and her grandfather’s pockets but all the same, we finally made it to the passport office and managed to get everything situated just in time.

So, save for a horrible experience of us freezing to death all night long with myself lacking nearly 48 hours of sleep and Danielle enduring more grueling pregnancy pains throughout the entire trip, things went well. We even had time to swing by the Independence Hall and visit the Liberty Bell. (At Danielle’s request.) And voila, three days later, the long-awaited passport is delivered straight to our door.

Oh but the best news of the week! The following morning after surviving the trials of Philly, we had an appointment at Geisinger Hospital for our first ultrasound! YES. We have pictures and god I wish I could post them. Not a scanner in sight though but oh well. As far as the nurse can tell, our baby is coming along fine and looking healthy. Due date is right on the money too:

10th May, 2008

Thank God. A Taurus. I don’t know if I could deal with raising a Gemini. Still don’t know what gender (or sex) it is yet though but the dreams I’ve been having have me leaning towards a boy. Yeah, I would’ve liked to have a daughter but I’m not being picky at all. Just wish we had some sort of father figure around because we all know I can’t fit the bill.

So, since then. we’ve been hunting down Wii’s online, doing Christmas shopping at Wal-Mart and BonTon, hanging out with Trey before we head off and even enjoyed an intimate Christmas outing for two; dinner at Angelo’s Italian Restaurant and a movie at the Miller Theatre. National Treasure: Book Of Secrets. It was pretty good. Pretty much decided to see it because of Danielle because it didn’t really matter to me. I just love dinner and a movie. Keep the chocolate.

Well, Christmas Eve has finally arrived and the big day draws near. Happy Holidays to all out there. You know who you are. And Heather, hugs and kisses to you. Love you.

lol Jimmy, good to hear from you, hun. Yes. I have a good feeling about this year. I don’t know, maybe it is the fact that we’ve got a bun in the oven but still, things are looking up somehow (or maybe that’s just my gullible optimism again).

Anyway, thanks for everything, Jim! We’ll be seeing you again real soon, don’t worry. Happy Christmas!

Misadventures Of A Vagrant T-Girl

There's plenty fun to be had. From the Cayman Islands, to London, to Phoenix and back again, Silky's been there, done that. But life's for the living and I ain't dead yet. Making vegans look cool, trannies sound sexy and delivering shit hot Electro is my deal. Loving my beautiful wife, nurturing my baby boy Phoenix and making my small mark on this jaded world of post-consumerism is my mantra. Friends, welcome. Guests, indulge. There's plenty fun to be had.
